Microbes are EVERYWHERE!

I had seven days to blog again and tell you all what I am doing. After this blog, I will officially be redeemed. Wahoo. I'm sure you're all just dying to know how my microbiology class is going. Well, one of our labs for the week is called "Microbes are EVERYWHERE". My assignment was to swab something in my apartment, streak it on an agar plate, and watch it grow. Nasty much?  So here are my supplies... swab and nutrient agar petri dish.

Here is the culprit... a scrubby dish-washing thing. You can visibly see how nasty it is. Now I want you all to start imagining how gross it is on the microbial level...

Here is the process... kind of. (This might be a reenactment because I forgot to take pictures until after.)

And here is my petri dish. Can you see the streaks in it? That's where my microbes are going to grow.

Oh, and don't worry your pretty little heads too much. I'll update you every day on how gross it is looking.
